Buying coffee beans online in Switzerland: what to know

Italian coffee has many fans in Switzerland, but not every pack sold online lives up to its promise. If you want to buy coffee beans online, it pays to check freshness, origin and how trustworthy the seller is. This guide explains how to recognise good espresso beans and how ordering, shipping and payment work at Dersut Kaffee in Switzerland.

What to look for when buying espresso beans

Coffee is a natural product that slowly loses aroma after roasting. A reputable shop therefore sells well-sealed original packs and states clearly where the coffee comes from. Check these points:

  • Whole beans instead of ground coffee: they stay aromatic longer and can be ground to suit your machine
  • Clear origin: the roastery and its location should be named
  • Original packs: no repacked goods of unknown origin
  • Official distributor: you know the coffee comes straight from the producer
  • Transparent prices and shipping costs in Swiss francs, with no customs surprises

Italian coffee from Conegliano

Dersut Caffè is a family roastery in Conegliano in the Veneto region that has been roasting coffee since 1947. The beans are roasted in two stages: a pre-roast at 150 °C, a main roast at 210 to 220 °C and then air cooling. Electronic colour sorting checks every bean individually. Dersut holds the certifications "Espresso Italiano Certificato" and "Espresso Italiano di Qualità".

Dersut Kaffee GmbH in Basel is the official distributor for Switzerland. That means you receive original packs straight from the roastery, without detours via middlemen abroad.

Two blends for every taste

The shop offers two espresso blends as whole beans in 1 kg packs. Dersut Optimum Rosso at CHF 29.90 is the all-rounder, with long-lasting crema, notes of cocoa and pastry and intensity 4 out of 5, ideal for espresso and cappuccino. Dersut Domus Marrone at CHF 26.90 has intensity 5 out of 5, a very intense aroma and a strong, decisive character.

Both suit bean-to-cup machines, portafilter machines and moka pots. For a fully automatic machine, set a medium-fine to fine grind.
